Cleveland's Museums: New Tourism Videos

After getting a bit motion sick from the Hastily Made Cleveland Tourism video contest winners from a few weeks ago, someone was kind enough to give me a heads up about some more professionally done videos highlighting some of the great things to see and do here in Cleveland. In fact, I learned something new from watching these videos prepared by InsiderPerks.com - I never knew that we had an International Women’s Air & Space Museum right here in town.

Please take a look at these two videos that were prepared by InsiderPerks.com covering the International Women’s Air & Space Museum and Cleveland's other museums. Both videos are very well done.

You can also find out more about the International Women’s Air & Space Museum by visiting iwasm.org , which is “dedicated to the preservation of the history of women in aviation and space and the documentation of their continuing contributions today and in the future."

These are very well done and informative.. I just wish they were easier to find on the main travel sites like Positively Cleveland. I pointed these out to a friend who was planning a trip to Cleveland later this summer after he called me complaining about the lack of videos about the city.

If you visit this guy's channel he has a few more now including the Children's Museum, Crawford Auto Museum and the USS Cod.

Positively Cleveland & other local media do you guys read these blogs? You need some videos about the city to help drive more tourism! Your budget is almost 4 million a year and this guy on YouTube just showed you up. At least ask him if you can use them on your site or something.

Hopefully people start watching these and telling others about them so this guy keeps filming and doing even more for the city. I didn't even know we had that women's museum either.

Great work Insider Perks and thanks again!

I'm curious also.. who is Insider Perks? Is there a way we can find out? These are some decent videos.. I'm glad someone is finally getting out the great things this city has to offer.

The link to Insider Perks was listed right in this blog post. My suggestion is to check out their web site and try to contact someone from there if you would like more information. You may want to check out the "about us" section of their web site:

Thanks for the reply, I had read their page just didn't know if you knew anything more since you had written the article. I'll try and contact them.. I'd love to figure out a way to try and help them if I can.

Hi again, I was wondering if you could tell me how to load the videos onto my blog from You Tube, without all the horrible and idiotic comments showing. Also, did you see this fine video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbBl-_0tog8&feature=related

Hi Robert - yes, I did already see that video and I posted it on my blog back in February (link here:
http://allthingsclevelandohio.blogspot.com/2009/02/cleveland-aerial-perspective.html)

I am not sure what you mean about loading the videos on the blog without the comments showing. I can tell you that in order to get the video in your blog post, make sure you are in the htlm mode (not the compose mode), and paste the html embed code listed on the YouTube page for the video you want into the body of your blog post. The video should play when the blog is posted or in the preview mode (assuming you are using Blogger, that is - not all blogs support video embedding). The comments on the actual video shouldn't trail along with it. Sometimes people overlay annotated information over their videos, and those I don't think you can remove when you embed the video. Hope this helps!
